Located in the lively Ostend district, home to numerous theatres and cultural venues as well as the new headquarters of the European Central Bank, the lyf Frankfurt will embody this new generation of aparthotels adapted to the expectations of a nomadic and digital clientele, with a coworking space here, a shared kitchen there and, at the very top in the case of the future Frankfurt lyf, a rooftop bar and restaurant.
Recently interviewed by Voyages d'Affaires, Philippe Mettey, the Group's Marketing Director for Europe, made no secret of the world leader in long-stay accommodation's desire to develop this brand deployed in some twenty establishments around the world: "Our aim is to have 150 lyf by 2030, in particular by offering them in all the European countries where we are already present." . This is the first concrete example of this prediction.
However, its future will also be written, above all, on its original territory, the Asia-Pacific region. Following openings in Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Tokyo and X'ian last year, further developments have just been announced, including a fourth establishment in the pipeline in Singapore and an expected lyf in the heart of Sydney's central business district. Among other projects, lyf will be setting up in the Shibuya district after the Ginza district in Tokyo. In Malaysia, the Unesco-listed city of Georgetown will also see the brand appear, while a new lyf is expected in Kuala Lumpur in the Brickfields district. To complete the picture, the island of Bali, a popular leisure destination for nomadic coworkers, will welcome the brand, in Canggu to be precise, as part of the conversion of an Oakwood residence. a group acquired by Ascott in 2022 - just five minutes from the beach and surf spots.
Alongside all these developments, the Ascott group will shortly be adding another city to its list of French destinations, Lille. While Extendam and Sohoma have acquired the Citadines City Centre Lille, these new operators have announced their intention to transform this establishment into a "luxury hotel". Following major restructuring work, this will become the fifth establishment of the American group's long-stay brand, after those in Paris, Roissy, Toulouse Blagnac and Strasbourg.
