Last July, Madrid and Barcelona joined Mastercard's Fast Track network, which allows eligible travellers to clear security checks more quickly.
The new Fast Track service of Mastercard both Spanish airports are part of a credit card expansion strategy in Europe. Indeed, the two new stops complement the network already available in Athens and Istanbul. They are part of The Mastercard Collection, the brand's premium offering which brings together benefits in the fields of travel, dining and entertainment.
Mastercard effectively wants to allow its premium business travellers to save time in a context where major European airports are increasingly suffering from infrastructure congestion. "LThe journey should be as rewarding as the destination itself ", highlights Brice van de Walle, Executive Vice-President of Core Payments Europe at Mastercard. The expansion of Fast Track is intended, in particular, to allow cardholders to "save precious time" when travelling.
A perk that depends on the card
The dedicated security control lane is modulated according to the type of Mastercard. Thus, Mastercard World Legend cardholders benefit from unlimited access to the Mastercard Fast Track. Furthermore, they can bring up to three guests,
For cardholders World Elite and Worldhowever, access depends on their eligibility and the conditions set by the card issuer.
This extension also strengthens Mastercard's global network. The Mastercard Collection currently provides access to over 1,500 airport lounges and more than 200 Fast Track lanes worldwide. The programme also includes dining offers at selected airports, notably in São Paulo and Hong Kong.
The offer doesn't stop at airports. Eligible members can also benefit from priority bookings at renowned restaurants, as well as privileged access to certain concerts, sporting events and cultural appointments.
Other Fast Track openings are planned in Europe and the rest of the world. Something to watch out for in the coming months, but London, Paris or even Frankfurt would be most welcome!
