Despite an international aura that grows stronger every year - 20 countries on five continents - GL events has not forgotten its roots: Lyon. It's a destination whose appeal the events giant is maintaining, as the results for the past year confirm.
By 2025, the group's four Lyon venues - Eurexpo Lyon, Centre de Congrès, La Sucrière and Matmut Stadium - were full to bursting: 500 events and 2.5 million visitors. This should keep Lyon among the top MICE destinations, not only in France, but also beyond.
Sylvain Douce, Managing Director of Lyon events sites, explains: " Thanks to the performances in 2025 and the very promising outlook for 2026-2027, Lyon has confirmed its place among the top 15 European event destinations. In an extremely competitive market, both in France and internationally, our ambition is to continue this momentum, which will inevitably involve public, private and institutional players working together to promote Lyon and its economic and social development. Among the new infrastructure developments: the extension of Eurexpo Lyon, with the construction of a new 7,000 m² Hall 4.3. It is due to open in October. At the Lyon Convention Centre, 35 digital screens have been added to the audiovisual offering, confirming the digital positioning of a venue that is also equipped with integrated videoconferencing and streaming solutions. Finally, we should mention the creation of a Convention Hub at the heart of the Eurexpo Lyon exhibition centre, which can host meetings, seminars, conventions and congresses for up to 10,000 participants.
With 270 events already confirmed at GL events' four venues in Lyon, this is an ambitious start to 2026.
