In June, Sri Lankan Airlines placed an order for six Airbus A330-300s and four Airbus A350-900s, the latest model to come off the EADS production line. The efficiency and product excellence of our current Airbus A330 aircraft, as well as the high level of customer satisfaction with the on-board service, have confirmed our decision to order more A330s, which will continue to form the backbone of our long-haul operations," said Kapila Chandrasena, the airline's CEO. The Sri Lankan carrier has also been working on a number of new high-tech solutions to meet oneworld's quality standards. These include online check-in and boarding pass issuing, as well as, for the past few months, the possibility of accessing a reservation and carrying out one's own check-in on a mobile phone. Finally, on the network front, Sri Lankan has just inaugurated a weekly service to the Seychelles from Paris with a stopover in Colombo. Flights are operated by Airbus A320 from Colombo.
