
Whether in the air or on the rails, Wi-Fi is now emerging as a key element in the development of new technologies. the added value likely to attract more travellers, especially business travellers. In a few months' time, Eurostar will be offering Internet connection on board its trains, while airlines are racing to develop in-flight connectivity. In the same vein, Northern Ireland's national railway company, Translink NI railways, has just announced the introduction of a wireless Wi-Fi network connection. The company's 47 trains have been equipped by British supplier Nomad Digital, and offer free Wi-Fi connection. Connections to Eire are also covered by this new rail connectivity, which should encourage passengers to prefer the train to the car.
