
There's an energising effect at Scandinavian carrier SAS since Air France-KLM acquired a stake in the company. Just after joining the Skyteam alliance, SAS Scandinavian Airlines announced in September the launch of around fifteen new routes for 2025. These have since been joined by four new destinations.
The company will be making a special effort the expansion of its network into Central Europe with Bucharest, Budapest, Krakow, Varna (in season) and, last but not least, Wroclaw. To Scandinavia with Billund, Bodø, Kristiansand, Harstad/Narvik and Turku. This winter, the airline is launching two to three frequencies a week to Kiruna, in Swedish Lapland, capitalising on the popularity of the destination. Towards southern EuropeSAS will launch in Bilbao, Cagliari (in season), Madrid, Malta, Milan-Linate, Seville and Valencia.
And finally.., SAS will be landing in Lyon from Copenhagen on 4 April with three flights a week..
The rise of the Copenhagen hub
At the same time, SAS continues to develop its intercontinental network, with the aim of consolidating its global hub at Copenhagen airport. The airline will reopen its route to Seattle in May, offering 5 flights a week.. It will also inaugurate three flights a week to Seoul in October. SAS will thus be the first airline to offer non-stop services between Scandinavia and Korea. The carrier will add a fourth weekly flight during the summer.

The SAS 2025 summer network will comprise 108 routes from Copenhagen.
