The fever of Bitcoin reached Schiphol. The Dutch airport is experimenting with crypto-currencies. Since 20 June, business travellers have been able to exchange their euros for virtual money instead of converting them into standard currency. " Schihpol is constantly looking for ways to innovate and provide optimum service to its passengers. With the Bitcoin ATM, we hope to provide a useful service to passengers by allowing them to easily exchange euros for Bitcoin or Ethereum. "says Tanja Dik, Schiphol's Director of Products and Customer Services.

Business travellers will therefore be able to bypass the standard exchange fees, but will have to pay the transaction fees for crypto-currency payments.
