Strike spreads at Lufthansa: more than 300 flights cancelled

The strike action initiated by cabin crew has been gaining ground at Lufthansa since it began on Friday in Frankfurt. Berlin and Munich airports are also affected.

European business travellers have been affected for several days by a strike which is disrupting Lufthansa traffic at three sites: the airports of Frankfurt - the German carrier's hub - Berlin Tegel and Munich are now affected by the strike by flight crews. As a result, more than 300 flights were cancelled on 4 September, mainly on the airline's short and medium-haul network. The extent of the action planned by the UFO union on Wednesday is not yet known.
