Following the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 10 February between Singapore Airlines and Vietnam AirlinesBusiness travellers can expect to bBenefit from improved connections between the two countriesin particular from the Singapore Changi hub.
The two carriers will initially explore code-share opportunities for facilitate better connectivity between Vietnam and Singapore. And then.., this opportunity could be extended to other destinations served by SIA. Such as Australia/New Zealand and Europe.
The two airlines will also explore other areas of commercial cooperation that could offer more added value and options to their customers.
Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines have been partners for over 20 years. With the easing of international border restrictions in 2022, both airlines have new opportunities to expand this bilateral cooperation. The two carriers currently operate more than 60 weekly flights, mainly between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore.. Singapore Airlines also operates within this framework daily flights to DanangVietnam's third most important economic and demographic city.
SIA mainly operates the Airbus A350 to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It also uses a Boeing MAX 8 to Danang. Vietnam Airlines serves Singapore with Airbus A321s, A350-900s and Boeing 787s depending on the day. In South East Asia (ASEAN), Singapore Airlines recently strengthened its ties with Thai Airways International and Malaysia Airlines.
