It's not so easy to venture into the field of low-cost on a route favoured by business travellers... At least that's what the decision made official this week by Thalyswhich will therefore end its offer low-cost. Le 10 July next, IZY will disappear from the radar after six years in business. " The IZY concept has proved its worth, but we had already gradually reduced the offer over the last few months and we have decided to fully reintegrate all connections between Brussels and Paris under the single Thalys brand. We're going to be able to offer our customers the best possible service", says the railway company's management. The company sees a number of advantages for passengers in this withdrawal, including " greater clarity for customers - thanks to the single brand, a shorter journey time (1h22 between Paris and Brussels), more services (e.g. Thalys Welcome Bar) and exchange and refund conditions aligned with Thalys and therefore more flexible ".
A permanent offer for under-26s
The traveller should therefore be able to read more easily. But at what price? Thalys assures us: " This certainly does not mean that our customers can no longer travel at affordable prices. ". In addition to traditional promotions, the rail company's management is highlighting the launch of a permanent offer for under-26s, " a target group not to be underestimated among IZY travellers "it says. The company also points out that the Thalys fare between Paris and Brussels is set at 9 euros.
