Volotea gives regional routes a Christmas boost

Volotea will be offering more flights by the end of the year. The regional carrier is following in the footsteps of all the players in the transport sector to cope with the increase in demand.

Volotea to offer more than 500,000 seats between 17 December and 11 January on 143 routes. This represents an increase of 33% compared with the same period in 2019/2020. The company has a monopoly on sixty of these routes.

The carrier thus creates 10 new overhead lines on its three main markets: Spain, France and Italy. It will also increase frequencies on its existing routes.

In detail, from FranceVolotea is launching two weekly flights from Lille to Nantes and Perpignanof Nantes to Perpignanof Paris CDG to Genoaand Toulouse to Luxembourg.

Volotea says that by 2020 it should have carried between 8.5 and 9 million passengers on its entire network, with supply down by 25% compared with 2019.

The airline plans to resume its growth in 2021 with the creation of new bases - notably in Lyon - and the launch of new routes. In France, Volotea has based aircraft in Bordeaux, Nantes, Marseille, Strasbourg and Toulouse. Through its network, the company is the leading air operator at its bases in Nantes and Strasbourg.
