Wireless in-ear headphones are making a name for themselves in the market for mobile digital products. Jabra is making a name for itself on the wireless headphone market with two interesting models: the Elite 65 T and the Active Elite 65T, designed for sports enthusiasts. On the audio side, these Bluetooth headphones deliver high-quality music, with the soundtrack customisable to the user's listening preferences via the dedicated application. Volume control and track changes are easy to manage. As for voice communication, four built-in microphones ensure clear telephone calls. Comfortable on the ears, these headphones provide five hours of autonomy, one of the best on the market alongside Apple's AirPods, and can be recharged twice in the battery-packed storage case. Sports-minded nomads will prefer the Active version, which is sweat- and dust-resistant and includes an accelerometer.
Sony has opted for differentiation with its totally waterproof earphones, presented last September at the IFA trade fair. The inventor of the Walkman is back in the spotlight in terms of mobile audio innovations with a range of in-ear headphones, positioned according to use. Dedicated to sports enthusiasts, the WF-SP900 wireless earphones are waterproof. This means you can go swimming while listening to your music. The fit has also been improved, but a neck cord has been added to the product. Given the price, it would be a shame to lose them at the bottom of the pool... or in the sea. Rated IP65/68, these earphones can be used for swimming in a pool or in the sea at depths of up to 2 metres, and are resistant to salt water. The fact remains that you can't swim with Bluetooth... which is why these headphones have another unique feature: 4 GB of flash memory for 900 tracks of music.
Both music and voice calls can be controlled by lightly pressing on the earphones, with the option of activating the ambient mode so as not to be totally isolated from outside noise.
As for battery life, these headphones will last for 3 hours in Bluetooth mode, which is the most common use for wireless headphones, especially if you want to receive voice calls. 6 hours of autonomy are announced when only listening to locally stored music. Like most earphones of this type, the storage case with its integrated battery ensures triple charging.
Sony has focused on the needs of swimmers, which may explain the absence of an active noise reduction system, but the range may not be enough for active travellers after their water break.
