Yotel rolls out its offer in the heart of Porto, Glasgow and Washington

Yotel was originally known to travellers for its cabin hotels located in the heart of the city. in direct proximity to major airports like those at Amsterdam Schiphol, IstanbulLondon Heathrow and Gatwick, Paris CDG and Singapore Changi. These are all places to rest for a few hours before an early morning take-off or between two connecting flights. Throughout its history, the brand has also extended its concept to the heart of major cities, including New York from 2011, London and Dubai, and more recently Washington, Glasgow and Porto.

This urban development is now the major focus for the hotel chain, which aims to have more than 50 establishments worldwide by 2025, compared with just twenty or so today. All these establishments reflect the fundamentals of the brand, offering rooms inspired by first-class air travel with real comfort in a small space, but also cutting-edge technology with ultra-high-performance WiFi, a smart TV equipped with Chromecast, USB sockets and chargers galore. At the same time, the Yotel app, which acts as a remote control for the room's equipment, also serves as a room key. This paperless check-in is part of the new SmartStay health and safety programme, launched in response to the current pandemic.

Yotels are naturally designed to meet the needs of travellers on business trips with their living spaces that lend themselves to coworking or casual business meetings, a Komyuniti bar-restaurant, a fitness centre and, on a regular basis, a space dedicated to meetings and events.

At the end of May, Yotel set up a new office in the city. in the centre of Portorua de Gonçalo Cristovao, with a 150-room hotel equipped with two meeting rooms - hubs - seating 16 people in boardroom format and 25 in theatre configuration. While the Komyuniti bar-restaurant is extended by an outdoor terrace, guests at this new hotel can also enjoy a range of snacks to take away or served in their room by... two robots, Yolinda and Yogiro. This high-tech originality is perfectly in tune with the brand.

Earlier this month, Yotel also moved into its new premises just opposite the central station in Glasgowon Argyle Street. The result of the conversion of a former office building, the hotel offers 257 cabins and is distinguished by a multi-faceted living space which will open in June. The Vega, which occupies the entire seventh floor and can accommodate 282 people, is coworking space, bar, bowling alley and daytime events venue all rolled into oneIn the evenings, it wakes up to the sound of DJs for lively dinners.

Openness to local life is a proven ambition of urban Yotels. A Washingtonwhere the brand opened a hotel in Februaryis a large rooftop which will be available from this summer. The result of the takeover of an upmarket hotel in the American capital - the Liaison Washington Capitol Hill - the 377-cabin establishment has also retained its restaurant, which is well known to local customers. The Art and Soul restaurant has been redesigned by the New York firm Wimberly Interiors, while the menu, designed by chef Danny Chavez, now offers modern American cuisine.

With three private dining rooms and a patio with a view of the Capitol dome for events With a capacity of up to 150 people, Yotel is also ideal for business meetings. The hotel also offers a vast meetings area of over 1800 m2, with a ballroom and several meeting rooms combining contemporary design and the latest technology.

After Washington, Glasgow and Porto, the brand already has other developments in mindin particular with combos combining its flagship brand and its long-stay version Yotelpad. This mix of genres will appear in the last quarter of 2021 in both Downtown Miami and the heart of Dubai, before expanding to Atlanta in 2024. In parallel, Yotels are also expected to open in Geneva at the end of 2022, Melbourne in 2023 and Long Island and Dubai (The Palm) in 2024, while a Yotelpad will appear in Brussels during 2022.
