The Rome-Milan railway line will offer free trains from Covid from April announced on Monday 8 March the CEO of Ferrovie dello StatoGianfranco Battisti. The head of Italy's national railway company welcomed the initiative as a way of boosting travel after more than a year of fighting the pandemic. The launch of a covid-free train at the beginning of April will be a first in Europe, according to FS, which manages the Trenitalia and Frecce (TGV) networks.
So what will this "covid-free" train look like? All passengers and staff will undergo a covid test before boarding.. La Red Cross Italy will help with the tests.
The Rome-Milan route was chosen because it is the busiest in Italy. Some sixty trains link the two cities every day in just under three hours.. Most make stops in Florence and Bologna.

Covid-free" train services should help to revive the tourism and travel economy. Tourism accounted for 14 % of the Italian economy before the health crisis, Prime Minister Mario Draghi explained to Parliament in February. The service will enable Italians to travel from one region to another once again. Non-essential travel between Italian regions is currently prohibited.
