
Okko Hotels is adding a new address in France, its eleventh, with the opening of the Okko Lille at the beginning of May. To make its debut in the northern capital, the upmarket, business-focused brand has set up shop in one of the city's flagship projects, the 31, rue de Béthune. The complex is the result of Vinci Immobilier's transformation of the former Galeries Lafayette stores in Lille.
Covering more than 25,000 m², this new city centre focal point In addition to the Okko hotel, it includes offices, shops and a vast food court run by Grand Scène. There's also an escape game run by Team Break, a sports hall and a climbing gym, as well as a much more business-like venue, a Wojo coworking centre.
Accessible by lift from the rue d'Amiens - reception is on the 2nd floor of the building -, the hotel is ideally located for business trips, just a few steps from the Grand-Place and the Grand Palais. less than ten minutes from Lille Flandres station. Like the new-generation Okko, the establishment has been designed by Studio Catoir, with a contemporary design designed around furniture and lighting selected from the likes of Vitra, Ligne Roset and Fermob. At the same time, most of the small items have been found on the Selency antiques website, giving them a second life.
The establishment offers a total of 120 rooms, with amenities including a Ligne Roset desk and chair for comfortable working, a coffee machine and Terra Moka organic coffee capsules. The Okko Lille also offers focus on sustainable development with an eco-designed bed by the Greek company Coco-Mat, or a comfortable walk-in shower with a range of large-format cosmetics made almost exclusively from natural ingredients by Prescription Lab.
A key element of Okko's offering, thehe Club, a vast, welcoming space that doubles as a lounge, office and dining roomThis is naturally the case in Lille, where a terrace has been added for the occasion. Travellers will be able to access the bar 24 hours a day and find free hot and cold drinks, biscuits and fruit, including waffles from Monluc and confectionery such as Babeluttes de Lille. The aperitivo offered to customers from 6.30pm to 8pm will also feature local specialitiesThe hotel also offers a wide choice of dishes, including potjevleesch and flamiche with Maroilles cheese, accompanied by a glass of wine or a beer, from the Brasserie Lilloise or the Brasserie du Pays Flamand. The hotel also has a fitness area with sauna.
After Lille and Toulon last yearOkko plans other openings, notably in Nice from next July with a 135-room hotel and two meeting rooms located in the Grand Arenas business district, close to the airport. Also on the programme is another business district, and not the least, that of La DéfenseThe brand is due to open its doors in the first quarter of 2022, with a 184-room hotel that will include a fully-fledged restaurant for the first time.
