A game of musical chairs between hotel groups is being prepared at Singapore. As Hilton's former flagship in the City-State prepares to rebrand under the Voco banner in January 2022, the hotel will be the focus of a number of major events, the American brand has already found a new destination just a stone's throw from the old one, at number 333 - and no longer 581 - on the famous Orchard Road. Hilton Singapore's new flagship hotel will open early next year and offer more than 1,000 rooms to travellers. This will make the Hilton Singapore Orchard the brand's largest hotel in the Asia-Pacific region. " We are delighted to start a brand new year with the launch of a major addition to our regional portfolio" said Paul Hutton, Hilton's vice president of operations for Southeast Asia.
The future Hilton will be the result of the conversion, after renovation, of the current Mandarin Orchard Singapore, owned by the Meritus group, with no links to the Mandarin Oriental luxury hotels. It will retain the hotel's gastronomic character. On the 35th floor of the hotel, the two Michelin-starred Sichuan cuisine restaurantThe Shisen Hanten restaurant will continue to be part of the hotel's offer, as will the Chatterbox, known for its speciality Mandarin Chicken Rice. At the same time, three new food and beverage outlets will be added to the hotel's offering, including an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant and a lobby lounge bar.
The Hilton Singapore Orchard will also be able to build on another feature of the existing hotel to attract business tourists: one of the largest event venues in the city. In the process of being completely refurbished, it covers more than 2,400 square metres and will feature 12 meeting rooms, most with natural daylight, as well as multi-purpose areas for private coffee breaks and small group sessions. Most importantly, the hotel will feature two vast, pillarless ballrooms that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. These state-of-the-art event spaces will be equipped with LED walls and cutting-edge lighting and sound technologies.

Comprising two towers, the Hilton Singapore Orchard will offer 1080 renovated rooms and suitesA new executive lounge has also been added for business travellers. In terms of facilities and services, guests can take advantage of an outdoor swimming pool and two 24-hour fitness centres. The hotel is also linked to a four-storey luxury shopping mall with a host of local and international fashion brands, cafés and restaurants.
