IHG Hotels & Resorts has made customer loyalty one of its major priorities for 2022. Last April, the British group unveiled its new IHG One Rewards programme, promising accelerated points earning with, at the same time, the introduction of a new progressive and à la carte rewards system. In this context, IHG is taking another step forward with the launch ofa completely redesigned application. " We knew we had to create a platform that would unleash the full power of the new programme." said Jolie Fleming, Senior Vice President, Guest Products and Platforms, IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Supporting all developments in the programme, the IHG One Rewards application integrates the Milestone Rewards functionality, for example, allowing you to choose these à la carte rewardsThese include bonus points, restaurant vouchers, upgrades and annual VIP lounge memberships. Members are offered a selection of rewards every 10 nights, from 20 nights' stay up to 100 nights' stay.
At the same time, members can monitor their progress towards the next status and obtain new Milestone rewards through a highly visual dashboard. In addition, IHG One Rewards members benefit through the app from upgrade offers and exclusive packages tailored to their preferences.
Among the hundred or so improvements made to IHG's digital solution, which are based on feedback from guests and hotel owners and teams, are also practical things to help manage stays. For example, the app offers a reservation described as ultra-fast and allows you to add rewards to future stays, such as bonus points or breakfast. It also provides access to the best rates and extensive information on establishments, such as whether they accept pets or have parking facilities.
Naturally, the app dematerialises the check-in/check-out process, with the possibility of check their hotel bills after your stay. Business travellers who are used to booking a particular hotel will find a new QuickBook a simplified way of booking a stay there.
Finally, the new app, which can be added to both Apple and Google wallets, features a digital conciergeThis is where programme members can chat to customer service, to reset their password or get answers to their questions about upcoming holidays. " These are major changes. (...) This is the first of many investments we are making to improve our customers' digital experiences." said Jolie Fleming.
