The Radisson Individuals collection of hotels will be making a grand entrance into Berlin next April, when it welcomes an emblematic hotel in the German capital, the Hotel Berlin, Berlin. The city's third largest hotel, with its 701 rooms and suites With its 4,000 square metres of conference space, the hotel is ideally located in the Mitte district on Lützowplatz, close to the KaDeWe department stores' and West Berlin's famous shopping street, the Ku'damm.

However, the Hotel Berlin, Berlin is no stranger to the local hotel scene, having opened 65 years ago in 1958. To keep up with the times, in 2019 the establishment has begun a long renovation phase which was completed in autumn 2022. The result is a contemporary design for its rooms and redesigned public areas, as well as adapting the building to the new ecological standards, rewarded by BREEAM Excellent certification.

As part of this transformation, the hotel has a new, friendly restaurant, the Lütze, where you can enjoy sandwiches, soups and bowls, as well as a takeaway food and drink kiosk. There is also a fitness area with Finnish sauna and state-of-the-art exercise equipment. The hotel also offers an 'at home' wellness service in partnership with welmoa, whether for a massage, hairdressing or manicure. But the Hotel Berlin is above all a major business establishment with its twenty or so meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology and its 540 square metre ballroom, which can host cocktail parties for 1,200 people or conferences for 550 participants in theatre format.

With this major contribution, the Radisson Individuals brand continues to expand worldwideSince the launch of the brand at the end of 2020, it now includes more than fifty establishments. At the same time, the integration of the Hotel Berlin into its offering has offset the Radisson group's setbacks in the German capital. In mid-December, its flagship hotel in the city, the Radisson Collection BerlinThe city of Berlin has seen the collapse of part of what made it famous: its legendary aquarium, Aquadom Berlin.

At 16 metres high and 11.5 metres in diameter, this cylindrical aquarium - the largest in the world - has seen its walls, which are only around twenty centimetres thick, crack, spilling a million litres of water and thousands of tropical fish in the middle of a lobby transformed into a desolate shambles. Fortunately, the incident happened very early in the morning, at 6am, leaving only two people slightly injured, a guest and a member of staff. While the cause of the accident has not yet been established and it will be some time before the hotel is operational again, Radisson is continuing to relocate hotel guests to other establishments, with the Hotel Berlin undoubtedly offering a new solution.
