Train users Lyria between France and Switzerland will have to adapt this summer. Track renovation work will be required on two main routes.
Paris-Lausanne
The first concerns the Paris-Lausanne route via Geneva. This mainly involves renewing the tracks, while work is continuing at Lausanne station to overhaul the platforms. Between the From 29 June to 18 August 2024, Lyria services to Lausanne via Geneva will have Geneva Cornavin as their departure or terminus station.
In addition, the Paris-Lausanne train 9269 departing at 11:56 will not be running from Monday to Friday, from 13 to 25 August. As will train 9268, departing at 12:23pm in the Lausanne-Paris direction on the same dates.
Paris-Zurich
Lyria trains to Zurich will also have to adapt to a period of works. They are due to run for over a month, from 7 July to 11 August. During this period, all trains bound for Zurich will stop in Basel, where connections will be made. However, only one direct train will remain during this period Train 9206 leaves Zurich at 6.59am and arrives in Paris at 11.38am. From Paris, train 9223 remains. It leaves Paris at 6.22pm and arrives in Zurich at 11.00pm.
More bad news: passengers taking connecting trains from Geneva to Lausanne and from Basel to Zurich will have to buy a separate SBB ticket for these two routes.
It should also be noted that work around Dijon on the high-speed line are forcing SNCF to cancelling two of the 6 daily round trips between Paris and Basel from 13 August to 13 December 2024.
