Strong revenue growth for Deutsche Bahn in 2010

Deutsche Bahn's excellent results for 2010 are evidence of a significant upturn in rail transport.

The German airline carried 1.95 billion passengers last year, an increase of 42 million passengers and +2.2 % compared with 2009. Even more than regional routes, with growth of +2.4 %, it was long-haul traffic that contributed to this good result. Supported also by the return to growth in freight and its logistics activities, the Group saw its revenues increase by +17.3 % year on year. "Deutsche Bahn's commercial success is creating the preconditions for greater quality and better service. This is our objective for the coming years", explained Rüdiger Grube, the Group's Chairman, when announcing the results on 31 March.
