Since the beginning of April, it has been compulsory to exchange tickets issued at the Pro fare. To carry out this operation on the day of departure, passengers must contact the Express Pro line or use the services of an SNCF boutique, a terminal or a ticket office in a station, or even the tgv-pro.mobi website for Pro 1ère e-tickets. For the time being, travel agencies are not authorised to carry out this change of reservation. SNCF emphasises the flexibility offered by this new system.
Passengers can now change their ticket for another departure, on the same line, but for the whole day, even on a full train. Passengers are not guaranteed a free seat. Above all, the rail company hopes to put previously unused seats back on sale and combat related fraud, according to the company, "to the non-composting of the e-ticket and the new Pro after-sales conditions"..
Passengers have until 5 July to comply with the new conditions for exchanging Pro fares before being fined. The fine has been set at 20 euros at peak times and 15 euros at all other times.
