Internet - Google experiments with Hotel Finder

Just a few months after buying information software ITA, Google is clarifying its ambitions in the travel industry with the launch of Hotel Finder. The idea is to use the power of Google Maps to find hotels.

In practice, users are invited to draw a very precise perimeter within which they wish to limit their search, after entering a number of criteria: date, price, number of stars.

The Hotel Finder adjusts its answers with each move of the cursor. And for each of the hotels symbolised by dots, users can click to see photos, find out rates, read user comments and add the establishment to the short-list. And there's more: Hotel Finder lets you book the hotel via the hotel's website and via the operation's partners: Priceline, Travelocity, Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, etc.

For the time being, the application is limited to research on North America and continues to carry the reference "Experiment. But Google is unlikely to stop there...
