At a time when business travellers are worried about the prospect of a trend towards strike at Air France From Saturday, it will be the turn of the railways to experience further disruption. On Thursday, four railway unions issued strike warnings from 8pm on Monday 7 November until 8am on Wednesday 9 November. The issue at stake is the liberalisation of the railways on a European scale, which is likely to give rise to further walkouts in the countries of the European Union. Coincidentally, the strike notice came just hours after the announcement by Réseau Ferré de France of a rail punctuality on the rise over the 1st half, with a rate of 0% for delays linked to industrial action.
