Following the opening up of international routes to competition, Thello, the first private passenger rail carrier to be created by Veolia Transdev and the Italian national company Trenitalia, has decided to launch daily night services between Paris, Milan and Venice. Departures are scheduled for 8.43pm from Gare de Lyon (7.57pm from Venice), with trains serving Dijon, Milan, Brescia, Verona, Vicenza and Padua stations along the way. Thello offers connections at Italian stations via the Trenitalia network. Fares start at €35 for a single ticket on the Paris-Venice route, marketed via a website ( www.thello.com) or a call centre (01 83 82 00 00). Customers will be able to choose between 3 levels of comfort, with compartments of 6 and 4 berths and cabins with beds and washbasins for 1 to 3 people. In terms of catering, passengers will be able to take advantage of a mobile sales service in a couchette car and, for nostalgic travellers, a 36-seater dining car, the service being provided by LSG Sky.
