One in two business travellers who applied for a visa in the past year reported encountering a difficulty: a refusal within the timeframe, an additional cost to speed up a case, or expenses never reimbursed by the company. This is what an inquiry commissioned by reveals. Perk Amongst over 8,000 professionals from the UK, USA, Spain, Germany, and France, conducted online by Censuswide last April of employees travelling at least twice a year for work within companies of over 250 employees.
This is the space that Perk (formerly TravelPerk) intends to occupy with Entry Ready. The new module cross-references the data from each traveller's passport profile with their booking to flag, in advance, the required documents for their destination. eVisa procedures andelectronic travel authorisations (ETAs) can then be initiated and settled within the tool itself, rather than via a separate administration portal.
A technical brick entrusted to Sherpa
Perk does not develop this expertise in-house: the module relies on Sherpa, a company specialising in visa solutions since 2016, which claims to have more than 350 connections with government agencies and coverage of over 60 destinations. The two companies claim processing times are 20 % shorter than when applying directly via a government website. However, the rollout actually began earlier: since January, an initial phase of automatic detection of visa requirements has already been applied to over 500,000 journeys, without payment being associated.
