Google asserts its position in business travel

Google is confirming its growing interest in business travel: the web giant will be one of the main guests at the next conference organised by the Guild of Travel Management Companies in Doha in May, on the theme of "drivers of change".

With the successive launches of Hotel Finder and Flight Search, Google had already sent out clear signals to the world of travel in general, and business travel in particular. The search engine's positioning is now clearer with the announcement of its participation in a key industry event: Scott Field, head of online travel for the UK and Ireland, will be speaking at the GTMC conference in May. "It's clear that no one is setting the pace in the search and retail market more than Google, and it will be particularly interesting to hear their views and responses to our members and partners," explains Anne Godfrey, Director of the GTMC.
