The charismatic Bordeaux businessman, owner of some forty vineyards in France and abroad, welcomes incentive groups - very exclusive, no doubt - via his top-of-the-range incoming agency, Luxury Wine Tourism. For them, it opens the doors of its finest Bordeaux estates: Château Pape Clément, a Graves Grand Cru Classé, Château La Tour Carnet, a Haut-Médoc Grand Cru Classé and Château Fombrauge, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. The tour takes place in a Rolls Royce, but also by helicopter. From the sky, guests can see the region's most prestigious appellations, including Margaux, Mouton Rothschild, Cheval Blanc and Lafite-Rothschild... Château La Tour Carnet is also flown over: this 12th-century fortress, which once belonged to the family of the philosopher Michel de Montaigne, is dedicated to literature and friendship.
It can be used for private functions, with the possibility of organising a dinner for around forty people in one of its rooms, or setting up tents in its wooded grounds for larger receptions. Cookery classes are also available.
In season, you can also take part in the grape harvest at one of the group's properties, including Château Fombrauge, a beautiful 17th-century Carthusian monastery where one of the oldest Saint-Emilion grands crus is produced. Another attraction is the music. Bernard Magrez is also a music lover and, as a patron of the arts, has acquired a Stradivarius which he entrusts to violinists in residence at the château. In the same exceptional spirit, right in the centre of Pessac, Château Pape Clément, the group's most prestigious vineyard, with a cellar containing almost 80,000 vintage bottles, organises very chic dinners - from 20 to 180 guests - and offers a range of services: wine blending workshop, lunch on the grass, candlelit dinner in the owner's dining room, overnight stay at the château... But whatever the formula chosen, it goes without saying that it's luxury, the grand kind, that prevails in these epicurean stays!
