Higher figures for SNCF

On Friday, SNCF published its results for the first nine months of the year, showing an overall increase in both traffic and financial figures.

Despite the strike action that began on the evening of 24 October, SNCF is feeling optimistic. The railway company has just published a set of figures for this year, including a turnover of 25.1 billion euros at the end of September 2012. This represents a significant increase (+3.2%) compared with the same period in 2011, thanks to the dynamism of the passenger branches, namely SNCF Proximités (+3.7 %) and SNCF Voyages (+2.6 %). The TGV and iDTGV, in particular, grew by +1.8 % at the end of September, while Lyria in particular contributed to the strong growth in European activities (+5.6 % in traffic revenues.
