Swedish and Turkish hotels are great places to do business, at least when free connectivity is taken into account - a key criterion for many business travellers. This is what emerges from the study carried out by HRS on the European market, in which "more than 67% of hotels now offer free Wi-Fi", according to the report. This average is boosted by Swedish hotels (82.30%) and especially Turkish hotels (84.70%), with Poland (80.50 %) completing the podium. At the bottom of the table is France (16th, at 57.70 %). The eastern part of the continent is likely to be basing its fine performance on the growth of the market, which is attracting new establishments equipped from the outset with new technologies, unlike the countries of the south. The other lesson to be learned from the study is the link between hotel category and Wi-fi prices: "the HRS study also confirmed what has long been suspected: the higher the hotel category, the more expensive wireless Internet access becomes. It is in luxury hotels that this service is most frequently charged for. It costs around €7.84 for an hour's Wi-Fi connection in a 5-star hotel room. There are even rare cases of hotels charging up to 30 euros for an hour's connection. The lowest rates are found in 1-star hotels, at around €2.06 per hour per room. Taking all categories together, the average cost of a connection is €2.89 per hour, according to HRS.
