A Dutch competitor for Thalys?

Thalys could see a competitor emerge in 2015 on the Paris-Amsterdam route, in this case the Dutch company Travelteq, which plans to run five return trains a day.

Called Travelteq Express, these high-speed trains are due to make stops in Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Schiphol airport. Business travellers are obviously the first target of the Dutch company, as this new operator wants to offer a transport service consisting solely of 1st class trains with WiFi on board, comfortable seats and a catering service. All at very competitive fares, starting at 100 euros one way. Other more solidly-backed players are still fine-tuning their plans for this route, such as Deutsche Bahn, which is expected to launch in 2016.
