The peaceful island - the meaning of Sentosa in Malay - concentrates on 3.5 km² a multitude of activities to the glory of Entertainment, easily accessible by public transport, on foot via the Sentosa BoardWalk, or by "Cable Car", the cable car overlooking Singapore. In recent years, Sentosa has established itself as a vast playground for international conventions and incentive events. The opening of Resorts World Sentosa in 2010 definitively established its status as an international leisure centre. The complex concentrates four theme parks on the northern part of the island, including the famous Universal Studios and the new Marine Life Park, which opened at the end of 2012. In addition, Resorts World Sentosa has no fewer than 1,800 rooms in six top-of-the-range hotels, plus around sixty restaurants, a casino and a vast 10,000 m² Spa.
Activities everywhere, for everyone
Sentosa's potential is not limited to the new complex, however vast it may be. Since the 1980s - and still today - the Imbiah Lookout offers a host of activities for the general public, including the Skyline Luge and the Megazip Adventure Park, as well as a team-building course specially designed for corporate clients: the Imbiah Challenge (see page 11). Further east, the Serapong area welcomes golf enthusiasts to one of Asia's most renowned courses (36 holes), while the southern part of the island is dedicated to 3.2 kilometres of beaches where new activities are flourishing, such as the Wave House where you can try your hand at surfing or the iFly and its free-fall simulation.
Example of a programme
- 6.35 am Welcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
- 9:00 Tai Chi session; breakfast on the hotel terrace overlooking the China Sea.
- 10:30 Transfer to the Marine Life Park, visit the Sea Aquarium and hold business meetings in the dedicated meeting rooms.
- 13:00 Lunch at the Sky Deck restaurant with a spectacular view of Singapore harbour.
- 2.30pm Teambuilding activities at the Sentosa Imbiah Challenge (Luge & Skyride, Megazip Adventure Park) or discover the history of Singapore at the Image of Singapore Museum.
- 17:00 Transfer and break at the hotel
- 6.30 pm Cocktail party at sunset on the beach at Tanjong Beach Club
- 20:00 Gala dinner at the Glass House restaurant, in the sheltered bay of Sentosa Cove.
