It's called "TF-NEO", belongs to the Airbus A320neo family, and took its first steps at Zaventem airport on 2 June: it's official, Wow Air has launched its new Brussels-Reykjavik flight, continuing its rise in the European market.
From the outset, this new route will operate at its highest frequency, with a daily flight until September. Wow Air will then gradually reduce the number of flights to five a week in October, then four the following month.
With this new destination, Wow Air aims to feed the Reykjavik hub and its transatlantic routes. A task made all the more imperative by the fact that the low-cost airline is expanding its territory. Already present in New York, Boston, Washington, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and Montreal, Wow Air will be landing in Pittsburgh on 16 June, followed by Chicago on 13 July.
Since its launch in November 2011 by local entrepreneur Skúli Mogensen, the Icelandic low-cost carrier has built up a network of around 30 destinations in Europe and North America.
