Ryanair continues to press ahead: after submitting an initial takeover offer at the end of July for Alitaliathe low-cost airline is apparently taking a more solid option. Its boss Michael O'Leary told Reuters that a binding offer is currently being finalised. His roadmap seems to be set: he is already planning to acquire new equipment - without yet specifying whether it will turn to Airbus or Boeing - and intends to apply the same contracts to the Italian airline's employees as to Ryanair's crews. The submission of binding bids will close next month, so the future of the battered airline should become clear at the end of the year. In addition, Michael O'Leary does not intend to take part in the race to buyAir Berlinonce again deploring the lack of transparency on this issue.
