This first commercial line will link Tangier à Casablanca at 2 h 10 compared with 5 hours at present, and Tangiers to the capital Rabat in 1 hour 20 minutes, compared with 3 hours 45 minutes. The Office national des chemins de fer (ONCF) has been carrying out technical tests on the trains for several months - with a speed record of 357 km/h recorded between Tangiers and Kenitra - on this high-speed line, for which certification by an international audit firm is expected shortly. In this major project for the Cherifian regime, the ONCF is being supported by teams from the SNCF which provide training for local railway staff in particular. France has also provided 51 % of the €2 billion financing for the Moroccan high-speed line through various loans. With the new TGV stations in Tangiers, Kenitra, Rabat-Agdal and Casa Voyageurs, the LGV also boasts four major architectural achievements, set in the heart of Morocco's most dynamic cities.
