
Where does the Adagio brand stand ten years after its launch?
Karim Malak - We have grown from twenty or so establishments ten years ago, mainly in the Paris region, to 100 today, in 11 countries and in three ranges, from budget to top-of-the-range. We have taken advantage of the boom in flats as a practical accommodation solution for business travellers, while relying on our shareholders to help us grow. Thanks to AccorHotelswe have been able to open establishments in Brazil and Middle East. We have also just signed a partnership agreement with Orbis in Poland, which is 52 % owned by Accor, offering good prospects in Eastern Europe. Similarly, we have a master franchise agreement with Accor in Africa. For ambition to open two or three aparthotels a year from 2019. For its part, Pierre & Vacances is opening doors for us in Spain and Portugal.
What are your objectives?
K. M. - Our aim is to have 150 establishments and 15,000 flats worldwide by 2020/2021. 28 projects are already in the pipeline and at a very advanced stage. We see real potential for this segment, particularly in the UK and Germany.
How far have you got with the roll-out of your new common areas concept?
K. M. - 26 projects have been launched, with a forthcoming inauguration at theAdagio Paris Bercy in December. Over the next four years, a total of 64 outlets will be given a new look, including a grocery shop selling basic necessities such as beer and pasta, a "food court", a "food court" and a "food court". style space coworking so that professionals can work outside their flats.
