It's the logical follow-up to memorandum of understanding signed between the Air France-KLM group and Etihad in September 2023. This will involve joint services and the coordination of flights on the France-Abu Dhabi route, now includes the loyalty programmes of both airlines.
Flying Blue membersthe Air France and KLM frequent flyer programme, and the of Etihad Guest will now be able to earn and spend miles on the frequent flyer programme of their choice when travelling on Air France, KLM or Etihad. The three airlines will shortly be announcing reciprocal benefits for Elite members.
Thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year, Air France-KLM and Etihad Airways customers now have access to more than 60 additional destinations around the world, extending the possibilities for collecting and spending Miles.
This partnership comes into effect today. It follows Air France's inaugural flight between Paris CDG and Abu Dhabi International Airport on 29 October..
Collecting miles with both partners
Flying Blue Miles can be used to enjoy a wide range of benefits such as booking flights and hotel stays worldwide, renting cars or purchasing items from the Flying Blue boutique. Etihad Guest Miles can also be spent on booking flights, hotel stays and holidays anywhere in the world or in the Etihad Guest Reward shop.
In addition to the daily Air France flight between the CDG hub and Abu Dhabi, Etihad operates daily flights to Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol from its hub. The airline has also announced the launch of a flight to Nice-Abu Dhabi in the summer of 2024.
