The time has come to take stock of air travel. Air Indemnité has lent itself to the exercise, by quantifying the disturbances during the year 2019 for flights to and from French airports. To begin 2020 with a touch of optimism, we welcome the positive findings of this study. Starting with the good performance of the national carrier and its regional subsidiary: Air France and HOP! are the airlines that recorded the biggest improvements last year, as Laura Vol, Marketing Director and spokeswoman for Air Indemnité, points out: " This year, these companies recorded -50% of disturbances. It has to be said that 2018 was a particularly difficult year for Air France, due to strikes by its staff, which lasted several months. ". Other good news: the significant drop in flight cancellationsThe number of flight delays fell by 20%. In total, however over 3 million passengers who were affected by disruptions in 2019, a rate of 2,5%compared with 3.8% for 2018. According to the figures published by Air Indemnité, business travellers were particularly hard hit on the domestic network at Marseille, Pau and Metz-Nancy airports. Internationally, the Tunis-Lyon, Marseille-Tunis and Lyon Djerba routes were the most problematic last year.
