Delayed for two years, mainly due to supply chain disruptions, the new on-board product Allegris from Lufthansa was finally presented to the press before official launch on 1er May on the Munich-Vancouver line. " Good things come to those who wait. Lufthansa has invested €2.5 billion in the Allegris product. Most of this investment relates to the renewal of seats in all classesAnd not just in business class, where the seat varies between 2m and 2m20 for the "ultra-long" option. The seat now has a heating or cooling function, while the cabin is more cocooning than ever. Passengers have access to a storage cupboard, a wardrobe (depending on the seat chosen), and a 43 cm or 68 cm video screen for viewing over 300 documentaries, series and films. Mobile phones and tablets can also be connected to the screen via Bluetooth.

Business class segmented into 5 options

Allegris includes many technological advances such as cable-free charging of electronic devices and Bluetooth. Lufthansa offers five Business Class seat options to better meet individual needs. From a luxurious Allegris Private Suite for one or two people to a cabin offering more space, another offering more privacy, a longer sleeper seat or a more classic space: passengers can select their preferred space when booking.

The Allegris product is not just for business class. A first class will offer even more luxurious and spacious suites. In particular, a one-metre-wide armchair that converts into a real bed. First Allegris will begin equipping aircraft from September. According to Jens Ritter, every month from 2024, the Allegris product will equip a new Airbus A350. In 2026, the renewal rate will increase to two aircraft per month. Finally, by 2027, all 120 aircraft in the long-haul fleet will have been reconfigured, promises the CEO of Lufthansa.

A revolution also in Premium Economy and Economy

Premium Economy has also been reconfigured, with a reclining seat, 99 cm more space between rows and a 40 cm video screen. Traditional Economy has also been redesigned. The space between each row is 79 cm with a more comfortable ergonomic seat and a video screen 34 cm wider. But beyond the cabin layout, Lufthansa management has rethought the product. " We worked on three essential aspects that define our concept of travel: hospitality and gastronomy, our trade shows and, finally, communication." says Heiko Reitz, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Airlines. When it comes to gastronomy, Lufthansa is aiming to surprise with its quality of its culinary offering. Breads specially designed to stay fresh and crisp at altitude, a cocktail specially designed for Lufthansa "Avionic", fresher and more environmentally-friendly products are all on the menu.
