Amadeus improves access to 9 airlines

Amadeus has signed 9 contracts with low-cost or hybrid airlines, and now distributes content for around 70 low-cost carriers.

Amadeus has announced the signing of 9 distribution agreements with low-cost and hybrid airlines for 2011. This extended offer should give travel agencies easier access to the fares, inventories and schedules of the newcomers, representing a total of more than 74 million seats sold each year. Air Arabia, Air Méditerranée, flydubai, Porter Airlines and Vision Airlines have signed distribution contracts with Amadeus. At the same time, Porter Airlines has signed full content agreements, as has Frontier Airlines. In Europe, airberlin and Norwegian Air Shuttle are continuing their partnership with Amadeus, renewing their existing content agreements. In the press release published on 21 September, Amadeus also states that bookings by low-cost airlines increased by 21% in the first half of 2011.
