The Marriott group is preparing to do double duty this year in Brazil's main metropolis. After taking over the operation of the former Four Seasons in 2022 under its JW Marriott brandThe American hotelier will be adding two new top-of-the-range brands to its portfolio. Starting with its W brand, which will occupy a new tower in the Vila Olimpia business district, with 179 rooms and 214 branded residences. Called The Allen, this residential complex of luxury condominiums is enhanced by all the hotel's amenities, including a spa, one of the world's largest roof-top swimming pools and a host of bars and restaurants ranging from Mexican steakhouses to French brasseries and American-style fine dining. Business travellers to this key city in the oil industry will also find 172 rooms, including 34 suites, and almost 2,000 m² dedicated to meetings and events, including the Vesper room, which can accommodate 800 people.

Long Beach (California)

Fairmont The Breakers, Long Beach (mid May 2024)
The Fairmont brand will give new impetus to one of the legends of the Californian hotel industry The Breakers, in Long Beach. Opened in the 1920s, bought by Conrad Hilton in the following decade, sold and then bought again, once transformed into a retirement home: the place has lived many lives before reappearing today after a long phase of renovation at a cost of 150 million euros. It will feature 185 rooms and suites, a swimming pool and rooftop terrace, a vast spa, a live jazz club and more than 1,100 m2 of indoor and outdoor meeting and reception space.

Nashville (Tennessee)

The Hilton group is going from strength to strength in Nashville. After a Tapestry hotel last year, and Conrad, Curio and Embassy Suites in 2022, the group's expansion in "Music City" will continue this year with several scheduled openings. Nashville Downtown will see the arrival of the contemporary Tempo by Hilton brand in the first quarter, for its second hotel in the world. In the autumn, the lively Gulch district will be home to both a Canopy by Hilton lifestyle hotel and a Homewood Suites aparthotel. As for visiting business travellers, from February they will also have a new Hilton hotel at the airport, with 298 rooms and extensive event space.

New York (New York)

Hudson House (open)
Ultra luxury for long stays in New York. Comprising just ten flats, La Maison Hudson offers an intimate setting for bookings of up to three nights. 30 days minimum. Already at work with the boutique hotels Crosby Street and The Whitby, British hoteliers and designers Tim and Kit Kemp, founders of the Firmdale group, are signing a third establishment in New York. After Midtown and SoHo, they are heading for Tribeca with the Warren Street Hotel. Built on the site of a former car park, the 11-storey building has 57 rooms and 12 residences, some with terraces, others with views over the Hudson and Lower Manhattan. A cosy hotel which also has a top-of-the-range brasserie-style restaurant, the Warren Bar and Restaurant.

Another offshoot of the British hotel industry in the heart of Manhattan, Twenty Two, New York aims to replicate the success of its London predecessor, opening in 2022 in the Mayfair district. Based on the same model, the hotel will offer a private club in addition to 77 rooms and a restaurant. Although the address is still a secret, the magazine Vogue evokes the Union Square district.

It's not exactly an opening, but it's undoubtedly one of the highlights of the New York hotel year: the return to favour of the Surrey Hotel. Hyatt Regency is due to make its debut in Panama in the middle of the year. This fast-evolving business brand, which is taking a more leisure-oriented approach, will be setting up in the heart of the business district of the capital, close to the Amador Convention Centre. Not far from the Multiplaza shopping mall, this new hotel features 382 rooms and suites in two towers. All of this will be accompanied by relaxation facilities - a swimming pool, fitness centre, wine bar and a number of restaurants - but above all it will leave plenty of room - almost 2,000 m² - for business tourism. The hotel will feature two ballrooms, a terrace for outdoor events, and a room dedicated to hybrid events.

PEROU

The chic lifestyle brand NhowNhow Lima, part of the Minor group, will be breaking new ground in 2024 with its first hotel in South America, in the heart of the Peruvian capital. Located in the lively Miraflores district, at the corner of Avenida José Pardo and Calle Atahualpa, the future Nhow Lima will add its sense of pop and quirky design in the new Pardo 200 complex. A flagship mixed-use project, with one tower dedicated to work, with offices and coworking spaces, and the other to shopping, restaurants and accommodation. The Nhow Lima will offer business travellers 243 rooms, several meeting and executive committee rooms, as well as a restaurant-bar and rooftop.
