From Shanghai to Auckland, Jaipur to Singapore, the Asia-Pacific region will see a host of new hotels in 2024. Here is a selection of the top 24.

AUSTRALIA

Melbourne

1 Hotel Melbourne (during 2024)
Set on the banks of the River Yarra, this new hotel embodies the arty, eco-friendly spirit of the 1 Hotels chain. By way of regeneration, the luxury brand launched by former Starwood boss Barry Sternlicht is taking part in the Seafarers project. In other words, the metamorphosis of a former industrial site, located halfway between the docks and the CBD of the Australian metropolis, into a trendy place to live through a property complex combining top-of-the-range flats and a 280-room hotel. An establishment with several dining options, a spectacular lobby bar and a 1000-seat conference centre.

As the airport in the capital of New South Wales expects to receive more and more travellers, its accommodation capacity around the airport will soon be increased with the opening of a complex of more than 450 hotels to be shared by two Accor Group brands, Novotel and ibis Styles. Located in the immediate vicinity of terminal 4The range will include a swimming pool, bar and restaurant, as well as conference rooms.

Le the dynamism of the Cambodian capital is reflected in a number of hotel openings. The Accor group opened a lifestyle hotel in Phnom Penh in 2022, the Tribe Phnom Penh Post Office Square. This year, a new Novotel will be opening in the heart of the city. Located just near the Independence MonumentJust a few minutes' walk from the city's main monuments, the Novotel Phnom Penh BKK1 will offer business travellers 254 rooms and suites, three bars and a Basque cuisine restaurant, as well as a swimming pool and six flexible meeting rooms. Another more leisure-oriented Novotel will open in Cambodia this year, the Novotel Sihanoukville Holiday Resort.

CHINA

Shanghai

What better way to celebrate its 60th anniversary than with a new flagship hotel in one of the world's greatest cities? Its contemporary hospitality and French art of living will help to make the Sofitel Shanghai North Bund a choice stopover for travellers passing through the Chinese city and for local guests, with its gourmet restaurant, Club Millésime executive lounge and top-of-the-range spa. Located close to the Bund, in a brand new 25-storey building, the hotel will have a total of 300 rooms and suites, with exceptional views of the Shanghai skyline.

This year, the Hilton Group will open a new flagship store for its flagship brand in the heart of Shanghai, close to People's Square and the Jing'an business districtand the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. The result of the conversion of an existing hotel, the future Hilton hotel will offer 382 rooms for business travellers, as well as a vast meeting space of over 1,000 square metres.

Specialists in luxury resorts like to take detours into the heart of major cities. Part of the Hyatt groupAt the end of the year, Alila will be spreading its lifestyle and contemporary atmosphere right in the heart of Shanghai, in the Jing'an district. Located near Nanjing West Road, the establishment is part of a complex combining offices and upmarket commercial spaces. Describing itself as urban utopia "The hotel's sophisticated design contrasts with the energy of the city by emphasising calm and serenity, as well as nature, with its organic table and landscaped garden in the lobby. Another garden, this one private, lends itself to the organisation of events and receptions, while the hotel also has a meeting space. To top it all off, there is a Chinese restaurant and a rooftop bar overlooking the Zhang Garden, one of the oldest in Shanghai.

Motto by Hilton Hong Kong (2e quarter)
Motto by Hilton will discover the Asian continent this year with its first hotel in Hong Kong. As part of this new wave ofhybrid hotels in tune with the timesWith its compact rooms and lively communal areas, the lifestyle brand will be settling in the fashionable Sheung Wan district, not far from the Hong Kong-Macao ferry terminal. The programme for this first foray into Asia includes 274 rooms, two restaurants and meeting spaces.  

INDIA 

Bangalore

DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield (February)
The DoubleTree by Hilton brand is joining the technological effervescence of the city of Bangalore with a hotel nestled in the Kalyani Tech Park, in the heart of the IT epicentre that is the Whitefield district. With 180 rooms, a restaurant and bar, and a rooftop swimming pool, the hotel is sure to welcome travellers passing through the area. a hotbed of Indian tech. A business hotel with six meeting rooms, the largest of which covers almost 350 m².

Jaipur

Raffles Jaipur (mid 2024)
Opened in 2012, the Fairmont Jaipur will soon have a prestigious neighbour. A close cousin in fact, since it is a hotel belonging to another of Accor's luxury brands, Raffleswith which it will share its vast estate. An obviously exclusive establishment with 50 suites, all with private pools, between secluded residences and elegant courtyards.

Another luxury brand expected in this key tourist destination, Anantara, will be making its Indian debut in Jaipur with a 150-room and suite hotel, whose offering will be supported by a restaurant serving fine Indian cuisine and a rooftop bar-restaurant with views over the entire city. But the hotel's special feature is also, and above all, its events dimension, as it is designed to host great indian weddings. A ballroom and banqueting hall, a pavilion and a lawn that can accommodate thousands of guests: these self-contained event facilities will also appeal to companies based in the sub-continent.

INDONESIA

Jakarta

25hours The Oddbird, Jakarta (early 2024)
To make its debut in Indonesia, and more widely in Asia, the brand created by Christoph Hoffman and now part of Accor, will be located in the new District 8 property complex. A mixed-use development in the heart of the Indonesian capital's business district, combining offices, a shopping centre, condominiums and a 345-room 25Hours, including hotel residences and serviced residences. A hotel that will duplicate the lifestyle basics which have made it a success in other parts of the world, such as Berlin and Dubai, with a Monkey Bar on its rooftop and the Copa restaurant, serving South American cuisine.

Mövenpick Jakarta City Centre (May)
Mövenpick is the other brand from the major French group to roll out its offer in Jakarta. in the heart of the Indonesian capitalclose to the presidential palace and the national monument. The result of Renovating an existing hotel, the Sparks Luxe and before that the Alila Pecenongan, the hotel will spread over its 23 floors 256 rooms and suites - the most exclusive with access to the executive lounge - as well as seven restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool and a vast meeting area with 17 rooms, its ballroom able to accommodate banquets of 450 people.

The Asian group UOL, owner of the Pan Pacific luxury and ParkRoyal brands will be doing double duty this year in Jakarta. The two brands are preparing to move into Tower 2 of the new Thamrin Nine complex. One of the flagship projects in the heart of the Indonesian capital, a new business and residential district comprising three skyscrapers, including the tallest tower in the southern hemisphere at 385 m, the Autograph Tower, and the slightly lower Luminary Tower, which will house the two establishments, a 158-room and suite Pan Pacific and, later in the year, a 185-key Park Royal, both with meeting and event facilities. These openings complete the hotel offer of the tower, which already has a long-stay establishment, the ParkRoyal Serviced Suites Jakarta.

JAPAN

Six Senses Kyoto (April)

MALAYSIA

Park Hyatt is taking to the skies in the Malaysian capital, at the very top of the Merdeka 118 tower. No more and no less than the tallest skyscraper in Asia-Pacific and the second tallest in the world after Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Completed last year, it stands 678 metres high, towering over the famous Petronas Towers by more than 200 metres. A lofty position for a hotel with ambitions that are no less lofty, with over 200 rooms, top-quality facilities and services, as well as vast event spaces. And, of course, a unique view over the entire metropolis and the Merdaka Stadium below, where the country's independence was declared in 1957.

NEPAL 

Kathmandu

Hilton is part of the development of the international hotel business in Kathmandu. Marriott and Radisson have a presence there, as has Hyatt, with a Hyatt Regency opened in 2000, followed more recently by a Hyatt Place in 2021. A Hyatt Centric is also expected this year, as is a Holiday Inn. Mercure is planning to arrive in 2026. Meanwhile, from March, Hilton will also be offering a hotel in the Nepalese capital. Blending contemporary design with local tradition, the Hilton Kathmandu will have 173 rooms, numerous dining areas and a rooftop bar opening onto the Himalayan mountains. The hotel also expects to become a popular meeting place with its versatile event spaces that can be customised to suit different occasions. 

NEW ZEALAND

Auckland

Like Kathmandu, New Zealand's main metropolis is expanding its hotel offering. Following the opening last December of a Pullman next to the airport, Accor is expecting to open a hotel under its Tribe budget lifestyle brand in 2024. But above all luxury hotels in the news this year in Auckland. For example, an InterContinental has been announced for the Waitemata waterfront. A privileged location in the heart of the city, in an area that will also house Auckland's brand new shopping, dining and social centre. At the same time, Marriott, which took over management of the Stamford Plaza Auckland in 2022, one of the city's leading hotels, is in the process of completing its transformation into the JW Marriott. Located in the heart of the business district, the 286-room hotel, including 15 suites, has been completely refurbished and offers, in addition to its signature JW Kitchen and JW Bar venues, a 553 m² conference and event space divided into five rooms. Its ballroom, with a capacity of 400 people, will reopen next April.

PHILIPPINES 

Manila

The Accor group's business brand is moving to the outskirts of Manila, in San Juan, a few steps from the Greenhills shopping complex. One of the oldest malls in the Philippine capital region, it is currently being redeveloped. The Greenhills district will see the construction of a new skyscraper, the Primex Tower, which, in addition to retail and office space, will house a 200-room hotel on its top floors. Dominated by a rooftop bar, with two restaurants and a swimming pool, the hotel will have a clear business dimension, with a ballroom, meeting rooms and a business centre, among other facilities. The Accor group is also expecting to open the ibis Styles Manila Araneta City this year.

SINGAPORE 

Conrad Singapore Orchard (open)
The Hilton Group's premium brand has started the year with a new hotel in Singapore, just off Orchard Road, the city-state's main shopping street. This luxury establishment, with 445 rooms, including 46 suites with double terraces, is set to become one of Singapore's most prestigious hotels. one of Singapore's new business hotels with its 1500 m² meeting and events space, including a ballroom that can accommodate 500 participants. Business travellers will also find an executive lounge, as well as a number of restaurants, including one with a Michelin star.

No more and no less than the world's largest Mercury. With almost 1,000 rooms - 989 to be exact - the Mercure ICON is one of the flagship hotels in the portfolio of this historic Accor brand. The result of an agreement with Worldwide Hotels Group, Mercure has acquired a hotel perfectly located between the Central Business District and Chinatown. With a swimming pool, restaurant and lounge bar concept, business travellers will find a host of services but, surprisingly for a hotel of this size, no meeting facilities. 

Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa (mid 2024)
This is where the Raffles legend was born in 1867, this is where it will continue in 2024. The luxury brand is preparing to give its historic downtown palace a resort double. Set on the island of Sentosa, surrounded by tropical gardens, bordered by a beach more than 3 kilometres long, with a golf course, 62 villas with private pools and a host of bars and restaurants, the Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa promises exclusive moments of relaxation. But the luxury resort is also a popular meeting point for the whole of Singapore with its grand ballroom, multi-purpose function room and state-of-the-art meeting facilities. 

THAILAND 

Bangkok

Six Senses The Forestias (end 2024)
Which of Aman Resorts, with its Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, or Six Senses with The Forestias will make the most spectacular entry into the Thai capital this year? While the Aman hotel has plenty to offer, with its design by Jean-Michel Gathy, its 52 suites and views over Nai Lert Park from its rooftop, let's take a look at the IHG group's next luxury establishment. A hotel nestled in a sea of tropical greenery on the outskirts of Bangkok, as part of a new residential complex designed by Foster + Partners. The baseline of this MQDC-backed project, "The Land of Eternal Happiness", says it all, an exclusive ecosystem where luxury merges with the great outdoors. It's a haven of peace, far from the hustle and bustle of the Asian metropolis, and yet very close to it. It's about to become home to a 60-room hotel and 27 residences, offering guests a lounge bar and restaurant, coworking spaces and a Six Senses Place members' club, the brand's first in Asia.

Mercure Bangkok Surawong (March)
More accessible to business travellers, Mercure will enhance its vast collection of hotels in Asia with a new establishment in Bangkok's old Thai-Chinese quarter, Surawong. Close to Patpong Market and Silom Road, the Mercure Bangkok Surawong will set itself apart with its Cantonese restaurant Yu Her Bao, its rooftop bar and its 219 rooms. Business travellers will also find two meeting rooms for a total of fifty people.
