We've all heard of flight comparators, which can scan the web to find the best value for money for a given trip. Now there's a search engine on a different scale, one that compares... the comparators themselves. Tripadvisor, Skyscanner, Kayak and Liligo are just some of the sixteen websites Cheapflightsfinder has sifted through, with the aim of unearthing the real bargains all the more perceptively. The new website is backing up its launch with an in-house study which has already pointed the finger at another heavyweight in the sector, Google Flight Search. The tool developed by the Internet giant for travellers is said to perform well below average, according to "a random analysis of 160 flights departing from major US airports and travelling to eight international destinations during the months of May and June 2012". A credible analysis, given Google's still cautious strategy in the travel sector, although business travellers will be mindful of the adage "Comparison is not reason"...
