"Business Tourism Club: Véronique Marchand, Charente-Maritime Tourisme

Véronique Marchand is responsible for developing the "business tourism club" within Charente-Maritime Tourisme.

Why create a "Business Tourism Club"?

Véronique Marchand - It all started with a request from professionals, because there is a lot of corporate activity in the region. The main aim was to promote Charente-Maritime as a business tourism destination and to help members promote themselves via the destination.

What are your strategic priorities?

V. M. - We have decided to focus our offer on the 'business friendly' concept, with a quality charter that distinguishes service providers who are experts in organising meetings and seminars, but who also embody our values. For us, this is what makes the difference: we have a diversified and professional offering, but above all we are a human and friendly destination.

What are the key locations for business tourism in Charente-Maritime?

V. M. - We are fortunate to have a number of strongholds: La Rochelle, l'île de Ré, l'île d'Oléron, Royan, Rochefort, but also Saintonge with its Romanesque churches and the Poitevin marshlands, which continue to the north of the department. We have very different types of product, but they always surprise.
