As a result, last year there were no fewer than 380 000 events companies and institutions, the majority (54%) of whom are seminars. One event in five (20%) took the form of a company partyoperations external communication representing 13% of the panel. These various events brought together 52 million participants in total, including 11% of foreign guests. Unsurprisingly, the Paris region took the lion's share, with a third of participants (32%).
This new study also attempted to estimate the financial windfall associated with this activity. This would reach 32 billion euros9.2 billion generated by events in the Paris region. These economic spin-offs will mainly benefit (52%) companies in the following sectors event production (reception, layout, content services, event catering, site hire, etc.). But the players in the tourism (transport to and from the event, accommodation, catering and retailing) were the main beneficiaries, accounting for the remaining 48%. Another key figure is that corporate events are responsible for the creation - or maintenance - of some 350,000 jobs in France, the majority (55%) in the tourism sector.
