How do you explain Madrid's rise as a business and tourism destination?

David Noack - Madrid was never Spain's favourite destination for travellers, but ten years ago the city decided to make a serious commitment to business tourism. The local industry has also taken action by modernising its offer. As a result, Madrid has become one of Europe's top MICE destinations and the country's leading business city.

Will the AZCA area lose its status as a business district to Cuatro Torres?

D. N. - AZCA is not just a business district: it is also a residential area where families and sports enthusiasts live side by side with business people. This district is also a very interesting example of themodern spanish architectureThis is one of the largest concentrations of fashion venues in Madrid. There are also plenty of restaurants, bars and places to walk and do sport. TheAZCA and Cuatro Torres are completely complementary: while some world-class companies still have their headquarters in AZCA, others have moved into the four towers and have made them their emblem.

Are new infrastructures planned for the north of the city?

D. N. - The reopening of the Palais des Congrès will certainly be accompanied by new projects. We are also awaiting confirmation of the hotel and commercial project at Santiago Bernabeu stadium. Finally, a fifth building is being prepared at Cuatro Torres, in addition to the Operacion Chamartin project.
