Decentralised MICE events during the London Olympics

In the run-up to this summer's Olympic Games in London, a growing number of studies are taking the temperature of MICE professionals and anticipating how they will react. The latest forecasts come from the Venue Reservations website, which is predicting more events, but smaller numbers.

According to the results of a survey of MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Conventions, Events) organisers carried out by the British website Venue Reservations, and reported by C&IT News magazine, two-thirds of them are anticipating an increase in the number of events, but a reduction in the number of guests. Another finding of the study, already highlighted by other surveys, is that professionals are preparing to avoid London as much as possible during the Summer Olympic Games. 65% of them are planning decentralised events to avoid the collateral damage - price increases, transport saturation - potentially caused by the Games and the influx of foreign visitors.
