BOMBAY: Bombay is a sprawling city, one of the five largest in the world in terms of population. The gigantic Bandra Kurla Complex business district, which is growing in step with the projects of the great architects, is becoming the new symbol of India's economic capital. The Bollywood film industry is being transformed, the hotels are becoming more sublime, and the historic districts in the south of the island are becoming more "bobo", with an increasing number of art galleries and hip boutiques. All in all, a joyous chaos. And it's working. BANGALORE: In Bangalore, the former "Garden City" that has metamorphosed into the Hindi version of Silicon Valley in the space of two decades, it's time for major works, necessary to continue the success story of a metropolis that is often congested by huge traffic jams. But this showcase of India's techno-logical know-how has the resources and forward-looking ideas to continue attracting high-tech business travellers.
