But 37 million tourists and some of the 110 million business travellers, who are more concerned with managing their costs, do. Communicating from abroad is almost a luxury, even within the European Union. The average price of a roaming call is €1.15 excluding VAT per minute. So much so that 15 % of tourists on the Old Continent do not take their mobile phone with them on their trip, according to a Eurobarometer survey.
