Study: Egencia takes the pulse of bleisure in France

The publication of Egencia's very first "Business and Travel Technology" study highlights the growing trend towards mixing business and leisure travel. Bleisure" now systematically involves 24% of French business travellers: a significantly higher ratio than our German (20%) and British (10%) neighbours.

The dividing line between business travel and tourism is becoming increasingly blurred as more and more studies are carried out on bleisure. What Egencia describes as "The French art of enriching business travel with moments of leisure" now systematically concerns a quarter of French business travellers (24%). Conversely, 13% of French professionals never mix the two. A strong trend, which the managers of the business travel agency explain in particular by the positive image conveyed by the notion of business travel. "We observe this phenomenon in all the countries where we have carried out this study, but there are some surprising differences - for example, despite the constraints, the French associate motivation and joy with business travel, whereas the English say they are more tired and stressed by it," says Christophe Peymirat, Senior Vice President for Egencia EMEA.
