The addition of Lyon airport SNCF station to the Emirates network will enable passengers to travel seamlessly from new French regions to the Emirates global network on a single ticket combining flight and TGV.
This integrated service offers passengers a fluid and simplified experience: a single ticket now covers the entire journey, combining the Emirates flight and TGV travel (notably via the OUIGO service to Lyon Saint-Exupéry). This expansion optimises connections via Lyon, making it easier for Emirates passengers to travel to and from new cities in France.
Bookings have been open since 17 December 2025. However, the first departures will not take place until 24 December. This new offer represents a major advantage for passengers living in the major cities in the south of France, such as Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and Grenoble. They will be able to reach their flights more quickly and more comfortably. Emirates departing from Lyon Saint-Exupéry, avoiding a potentially longer transit time to CDG.
A new "train + plane" alternative
" Providing the best possible travel experience for our customers is a priority at Emirates, whose service levels are recognised worldwide, "says Cédric Renard, Chief Executive Emirates France. " This extension of the "Train + Air" partnership with the SNCF considerably simplifies travel by making intermodal connections more fluid, offering our passengers a much simpler journey, right from the moment they book, thanks to a single ticket. We are delighted to extend this offer today to Saint-Exupéry, a key stopover for Emirates in France, which also benefits from our brand new A350 equipped with new cabins including Economy Premium class."
These new options will help to boost the attractiveness and connectivity of Lyon airport. In particular for business travellers from all over the south of France looking for fast access on a premium airline to Dubai, but also mainly to the rest of Asia.
Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport's TGV station is ideally located, less than 5 minutes' walk from Terminals 1 and 2. Passengers should follow the signs to/from the TGV station and the boarding/disembarkation gates in Terminal 1, where Emirates flights operate.
Cédric Fechter, Chairman of Aéroports de Lyon, adds: "The integration of Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport into the Emirates and SNCF Train + Air system is a perfect illustration of our ambition to offer enhanced multimodal access to our hub. Thanks to this complementarity between rail and air, passengers from the south of France can now benefit from fluid intermodality, enabling them to reach Lyon quickly and comfortably before flying to Emirates' global network. This initiative is also part of our strategy to decarbonise ground access to the airport, while improving the experience of our passengers.
Emirates passengers can now combine their flight with a TGV journey to the following stations: Aix-en-Provence TGV, Angers Saint-Laud, Arras, Avignon TGV, Bordeaux Saint-Jean, Champagne-Ardenne TGV, Grenoble, Laval, Le Mans, Lille Europe, Lille Flandres, Lorraine TGV, Lyon Part Dieu, Lyon Saint Exupery, Marseille Saint-Charles, Montpellier Saint-Roch, Montpellier Sud de France, Nantes, Nîmes, Nîmes Pont du Gard, Paris CDG TGV, Perpignan, Poitiers, Rennes, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, Strasbourg and Valence TGV.
After booking, passengers will be able to collect their TGV e-ticket 72 hours before the departure of their train, and check in online for Emirates flights 48 hours before departure.
